About our kittens
Our Breeding Policy
"Unlike many pedigree breeds, the Norwegian Forest Cat is an ancient breed, evolved naturally in cold, adverse climates. The breed developed through natural selection; only the fittest of the breed surviving, and today we have a very healthy and hardy cat.
During the winter they naturally develop a dense and warm undercoat which complements its flowing waterproof overcoat to provide the perfect protection for this harsh climate. The harsh “guard” hairs of their top coat are unlike any other breed and allow the water to flow off their coat, keeping the undercoat dry and allowing them to dry out very quickly.
They became the strong, muscular farm cats of Scandinavia, perfectly suited to their environment with their double coats, lynx tips, snowshoes and a unique ability to climb headfirst down trees!! A strong but elegant cat, standing high on the hind legs with a friendly and intelligent nature.
They are “the perfect pet with a hint of the wild” as a breed they are not the product of planned breeding; and therefore the challenge for today’s breeder is to maintain the breed as nature intended".

2024 Litters
Available
Updated 1st November 2024
We currently have four new Litters, which is amazing. These were our planned litters for the year, and they all arrived in August....because....we had four Queens waiting for our two new studs to reach the right age.
Most of the kittens are Reserved, just three available.
*Thats us for quite some considerable time.
If you feel that it might be of interest to take a cat, rather than a kitten, you are warmly invited to contact me also. I have recently retired Amadeus and Fionn mac Cuill and they are they are looking for a forever home.
I'm also planning to have a few Queens spayed and need a loving home for these girls soon.
Send me an email or use the Contact page, if you would like more information

Helpful Information
What is early life like for the kittens?
A kitten from us will have been thoroughly spoilt, socialized, carried around in my arms, talked to all day long, brushed, played with and used to the camera. And of course litter trained and wormed.
Kittens are brought up on homemade wet cat food paste and offered kitten biscuits
Kittens are Vet checked twice
Receive full Vaccinations against FCV, FHV, FPLV, Feline leukemia and Feline leucosis, first at 8-9 weeks and booster at 12-13 weeks old
ID tagged with Identichip, and new keeper may log onto Identibase Register to update personal details.
Registered with GCCF (Governing council of the Cat Fancy UK) and following their guidelines with regard to the kittens wellbeing, the kitten will not be ready to leave until 13weeks old.
A printed copy of their Pedigree is provided, showing five generations
And for an address in UK, I can set five weeks free Pet insurance with Agria, which can be continued or changed to another provider
I'm going to be a new owner, now what?
As a new owner, you will also receive:
One year Membership of the Norwegian Forest Club UK (if you are not already a member)
A kitten package including items to help kitten settle into the new home
Support, message me for advice, send me photos etc
There is also lots of useful GCCF guidance on getting your new kitten and caring for them available here to prepare: https://www.gccfcats.org/getting-a-cat/
What if they have problems settling in?
As mentioned, advice is always available, but if there is any issues/sudden major changes which cannot be resolved, our kitten agreement has all that covered and lays out the terms and will provide peace of mind for you :)
What about the practical side of things?
Kittens are ready to leave at 13 weeks, after receiving Full Vaccinations and Microchip, and paperwork is prepared.
I send regular updates and photos once a kitten is Reserved but also, I usually have photos up on our Facebook page from their birth, right through to this time.
If you are planning for a kitten now or in the future, do follow us for updates.
A non-refundable £200 deposit is required to Reserve a kitten, and balance paid before collection date.
This is all set out in the StrangrFjordr Kitten Agreement, which is signed at the same time the deposit is paid. A copy of our kitten agreement is available on request, please contact us for more details
