Our Story
StrangrFjӧrðr - Established 2017
It started with a Tortie Tabby and White Norwegian Forest kitten, who we named Reisa.
Reisa is a beautiful, funny, loving Cat and so very very clever. I was blown away by this ball of floof and having always wanted to become a breeder, I knew this was the breed for me.
Reisa’s breeder, Linda Grant became our mentor to start breeding NFC and over the years she has become a very dear friend and without her, and her permission to continue her breeding lines, none of this would have happened.
I got my prefix ‘StrangrFjordr’ accepted with GCCF in 2017 and had my first litter of kittens in 2018.
It was a dream come true, to enter the world of showing Cats, and winning many wonderful awards and trophies. We have travelled over to the UK for the Norwegian Forest Cat Club annual Championship Show. We have three of our own local Cat Clubs which hold Championship shows in Northern Ireland and then we are also eligible to register with GCCF Ireland.
GCCFI is separate to GCCF, so in effect we register our Cats twice, but then after achieving a Title award in both GCCF and GCCFI, the Cat is awarded the Title “International Champion” or “International Grand Champion” ….which we have done.
We have travelled to Tipperary for a show. Gosh that was a long way to go, lol. Only joking, it was only about four hours for us.
The GCCFI Supreme Show is in Dublin and we always look forward to that one.
Although we have had Cats that have qualified for the UK GCCF Supreme, we haven’t made it over …yet.
Since filling my home with kittens, I’ve met so many lovely people who offer loving homes to them and I love this part of the Cat adventure too. I hope to meet many more, and from further afield perhaps?
